About
WHAT IS RUN ACROSS MICHIGAN ?
It’s the combination of three of Matt Garbarino’s passions: running and supporting those who serve. The reserve deputy with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office started Run Across Michigan—his successful quest to run across the state solo—to make a positive impact in the community.
Thanks to Matt’s incredible run in 2018 and 2019, fallen police officers are never forgotten. And the Michigan chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (MI-COPS) is able to give more to the families who have lost someone in law enforcement. The journey continues as Matt expands his support for the military and all those who serve our great country through additional runs and charities.
Whatever your passions are, we encourage you to use them to make a positive impact and inspire others to do the same.
MEET MATT
I in live in Marne, MI and have served as a volunteer deputy with the Kent County Sheriff Office’s Traffic Squad unit since 2010. I have a passion for fitness and pursuing ways to help others with that passion. My son, Matthew, is a Midshipman in the Navy ROTC program at Purdue and has joined me in running with a purpose to support those who serve. And my amazing wife, Heather, has been my foundational support on this journey. Join me in honoring the brave men and women who actively serve in the military and law enforcement and have made the ultimate sacrifice.
